Macintosh version 5.4.4.4 update 11/16/06
You can update your existing Version 5 program by downloading this free maintenance upgrade from the Download page. This update for Macintosh completely replaces all prior versions of 5.4.4.4 for Macintosh. However, the new features and bug fixes contained in this maintenance version may not apply to you. If you have not experienced the issues mentioned below, then you do not need to download and install this newer version.
If you choose to install this update, the module dates (accessible from the "About" menu) will then reflect the following:

Before deleting your existing copy of Sophie's Cards please export your addresses and any text you wish to keep using the tools provided in the Preferences Page 2 menu. Also please remember to print your previous card history, if you wish to keep this information. After you've installed this update, you will need to import addresses using the import button accessible from any address screen Form view in Sophie's Cards, and manually import any My Words text you have exported from your previous version of the Program.
To install the update, first save any personal information you wish to keep as described above, then drag your old Sophie's Cards folder to the trash and empty the trash. Then click on the Sophie's Cards Installer to install the new version of Sophie's Cards.
Next, open the new version of Sophie's Cards and type in the password you were given when you purchased the original version of the Program. Import the addresses from the old version of Sophie's Cards, and drag and drop, or copy, any My Words text you want to keep into the appropriate module(s).
Significant changes and bug fixes include the following:
- The runtime engine and plug-ins are now fully Mac Universal compatible.
- You can now now turn the crop marks in Frameable Art on or off.
- A printing error which caused a page overrun when printing to A4 quarter fold was fixed.
- Personalization now works correctly for all card sides.
- Printing routines were improved.
- Page 1 of Preferences now uses more intuitive check marks rather than multiple buttons to select or deselect a single preference.
- The main Sophie's Cards window can now no longer be inadvertently closed, thereby requiring a restart.
- Auxiliary windows are now closed with a close button in the upper right hand corner of a window, rather than the Operating System's red close button in the upper left hand corner of each window.
